In December 2022, Spike was officially recognized as the oldest living dog in the world, despite being nearly blind and hard of hearing. Even at his advanced age, he still enjoys spending time with people and other animals on his farm.

Spike was able to break the previous record held by another Chihuahua mix named Gino Wolf, who was 22 years and 52 days old. Spike’s impressive longevity is a testament to the love and care he received from his adoptive family.
